As part of their ongoing New Media speaking series, University of Texas at San Antonio will host Co-founder and CEO of Microcinema, Patrick Kwiatkowski, on February 11th. Patrtick Kwiatkowski will present a selection of experimental films and videos from the Microcinema canon, discuss how the company began, evolved, and is now exploring the possibilities of content delivery through new technologies such as the web and mobile telephones.

Patrick is being brought to San Antonio by the UTSA New Media program as one of a growing series of guest speakers that includes Dr. Tish Stringer, who’s presentation "Guerilla Cinema," in November 2007, addressed the history of Indy Media. The next guest is Andrea Grover, founder and artistic director of the renowned Aurora Picture Show, who will appear on Monday March 3, 2008.

The speaking series is brought to you by UTSA New Media Professor Leslie Raymond who with her partner Jason Jay Stevens perform together as Potter-Belmar Labs, live-mixing audio and video. Leslie also produces work in expanded cinema forms including sculpture, installation, site-specific and public art. She also performs as vjFutureWorkerGirl alongside DJs and sound artists, teaches video and digital media at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and organizes exhibitions and events of new media art.
